Pumice Stone filter meadia is now being used extensively as an alternative to traditional Koi pond filter media in trickle filters and trickle towers.

Pumica Stone filter media is inert and rapidly colonises with beneficial bacteris which help cleanse the pollutants. Pumice Stone filter media is highly porous making it the ideal media for biological filters of all kinds. Efficient biological filtration depends on the media of choice having an adequate specific surface area (SSA), adequate voiding and water retention time. Pumica Stone filter media has a massive surface area and it therefore ideal in this application. It can used as a direct replacement to other ceramic based filter media.
